spinning kid
peter's 13 year old son was visiting on the weekend. he asked me if i'd show him how to spin on the wheel! i was kind of surprised because it seems like he likes to spend most of his spare time playing video games or games on his cell phone. but he really took to it. it was hard for me to show him when i wasn't sitting in the seat, feeling things. but he worked it out by himself: he noticed how to get the wheel to spin consistently in the same direction and how the tension knob worked. if he decides to do it again, i bet he pulls it all together. photo shows what he spun.

He definitely shows promise! I love it when kids opt for doing something creative instead of the ever prevelent video game marathons.
Tell him his yarn is great; good colors and textures. He's definitely got fiber talent.
