spinning bouclé...
i up and joined my local spinning guild. (boston area spinners and dyers) meetings are closer to where i've just moved, so i thought i'd give it a try. Barbara Clorite was teaching how to spin bouclé, according to the method she learned from Judith MacKenzie-McCuin.
i had not been a fan of the bouclé. i made a sample in class: see image, excuse thread choices :)
i want to like it, (the technique) for some reason. it seems like it has such potential for being crazy. i will experiment some more, but it was nice to take a lesson in how to create it.
and here's an article i wrote for supernaturale exploring contemporary crochet. it has lots of links to people playing around with crochet, if you feel like exploring.

It does look a little crazy happy with it's loopy self. It will be interesting to see what creativity this new technique inspires for you!
I responded, but not sure where it goes. Do we all just add comments here (at blogspot land), as opposed to responses?...
Anyway, I've MISSED you!! So good to hear from you :)
Yes, there's so much to try in spinning, eh? I'm experimenting with coils at the moment, thanx to the inspiration of pippi and melissa. They're crazy in their own way (the coils, but probably those two, as well!)
